Chagas is one of the “forgotten diseases” and perhaps the least known of all. This is the disease with the highest impact in Latin America. It is estimated to cause over 2.5 times more lost years of healthy life than malaria, leprosy, bilharzia and leishmaniasis combined. However, very little is done to prevent this from happening as well as to improve treatment.
